Who doesn’t love a good chocolate chip cookie?! And what’s not to love? This is one of our favourite recipes to make. They come out soft, chewy and full of flavour! Just be careful not to over bake them as they will get crunchy.

I get asked for cookie recipes all the time and this is my go to for Chocolate Chip Cookies! I have been making them for years, and I taught them to my students as well! Every chance they get, they request to make them! I have finally got around to make a video making them, and what better helper than Milo to help along!
This is a recipe I adapted from Tollhouse, and put my spin on it.
So after all my rambling, here is the recipe!
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs plus 1 yolk
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups chocolate chipe
- Preheat oven to 375F and prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a stand up mixer, cream with a paddle attachment; butter, and sugars. Add vanilla, then eggs one at a time until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture. **if your batter is too wet, add 1/4 cup flour to the mixture, a little at a time until you get the proper consistency**
- Add chocolate chips and mix just until stirred in. You don’t want to break up those chips!!
- Scoop even sized portions (I use a portion scoop/ice cream scoop) an baking sheet and bake for 9-11 minutes (depending on size of cookie)
- Check them at 9 minutes (depending on oven heat) and bake for one minute at a time. DON’T OVER BAKE or they will be crispy!!
- ENJOY!!
