If you’re like us, finding ways to entertain your kids while under isolation can be challenging. We try to keep Milo on a schedule, limit screen time, get outside for some exercise, and do art! Both of us love to paint, so naturally Milo loves to follow suit and do art with us. Below are some of our favourite art projects to do with kids that boost their creativity, but most of all they are quiet, focused and having fun!
Melty (Perler) Beads
Always a kids favourite, and I’ll admit, mine too! This is a simple project that takes a good hour or so to create, depending on how quick your little one’s fingers move and how focussed they stay. Milo wanted to create gifts for his friends, so this activity literally lasted for almost two hours! For adults, it’s also therapeutic. We all sat together and created different patterns and shapes while singing along to music! We purchased ours from perler beads, however ikea also sells them (just not as many colour options)
Window Art
This is one of our favourite art activities. The possibilities are endless to what you can create and it’s super easy too. Milo is really into Pokemon right now, so we printed off free templates from print-and-color.com. Then slide the template in a plastic sleeve, squeeze the paint and trace the outline. Let it sit to dry (preferably overnight) then continue filling it in the next day with colour. When it dries, peel it off and stick it to your window! We used two kinds, Leeho Window Paint from j & j crafts, and also Gallery Glass Window Color from Amazon
